VIRAL KITCHEN
The Viral Kitchen pilot scheme is a unique development programme that utilises the facilities, knowledge and experience of Second Home Studios for the development of local animators and animation graduates. The scheme will be free to the 4 successful participants and even provide a small bursary contribution towards costs and expenses.
The tangible goal would be the production of 4 short films up to 30 seconds in length before October 2010 that have an original viral appeal and that will contribute to the portfolio of all those involved.

Six of the West Midlands’ most promising up-and-coming filmmakers will receive funding by Screen West Midlands to support their production through the digishorts scheme. The final six filmmakers were selected from over 130 entries to the annual scheme which offers funding of up to £10,000 per film, as well as professional industry training and each filmmaker has received one-to-one script mentoring from prolific script editor Kate Leys. The films are an eclectic bunch, ranging from a documentary where people reveal how they first fell in love set on the back drop of the canals of the Black Country to a fast paced drama looking at how guns can quickly fall into the possession of almost anyone to an animation comedy about the plight of a love struck man who is trapped in the head of a cat. The final six films selected are Copier, Fifty, Luv’in the Black Country, Best, All Consuming Love (Man in a Cat) and Rolling Steel. |
