about digishorts.

Thanks for visiting our site. Here you'll find all the info you could possibly need on digishorts in the West Midlands, plus a full film archive streaming films from the digishorts scheme since 2002. We've got clips from films in the last couple of years (they're still doing the festival and distribution circuits so we're sorry we can't bring you the full films just yet, but they'll be up here in good time!) and the full films from the first few years of the scheme. So take a look around and let us know what you think of the films by leaving us a comment!

This website couldn't have been done without the support of Digital Central, who funded its development, and the team at Big Button, who put the thing together for us. Big cheers all round.

Make sure to bookmark us and check back often - we'll be posting here with the latest news on the scheme, films we're making, films we've made and other opportunities for filmmakers in the West Midlands.

Finally, don't be shy to contact us - either by leaving a comment on the film pages or by emailing us This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Look forward to hearing from you and enjoy the films!

about the scheme

digishorts offers you the chance to develop and produce a short film with support from Screen WM and the UK Film Council, including a budget of up to £10,000.

The scheme is open to filmmakers with at least one short film on a showreel already, or moving image artists, designers, animators etc with at least one equivalent piece of work to view.

There is no upper time limit on the shorts we commission. We're excited to be able to work with content over 10 minutes in length for the first time, but please don't forget, if a great short idea works at 2 minutes, keep it at 2 minutes! We'll look at any length and if the idea is spread too thinly at a longer length (or it's too ambitious on the budget) we may come back to you in development and suggest tightening the script.

The scheme is currently open for submissions - check out the How to Apply section for more details.

digishorts is co-financed by the UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund and Screen WM with support from the European Regional Development Fund.
